Im Pragi, a housewife and a professional storyteller. I currently live in South India. I enjoy music and reading.
What do I do?
I'm a professional storyteller and I work in multiple schools with primary school children. I conduct storytelling sessions, workshops and create and execute story curriculum for schools. A community of like minded kids come together bi-monthly which we now call the Little Paws Book Club. I freelance workshops for schools in Creative Writing.
How can I help?
I can help put together my curriculum of stories for children based on their age group. Children get to learn songs and do activities based on the story.
Why Stories?
Well, why not? We humans have a natural tendency to lean in and listen when its a story. The awakened curiosity and the kindled imagination is a catalyst to the pictures that form in our heads when we listen to a story.
As a part-time teacher, I meet a lot of children who have a fascination towards stories. They love the imaginary worlds of talking animals and walking pots. Well, who wouldn't? At some point in time, fantasy world was a place we all wanted to be in with our own superpowers, didn't we?
Stories have a reach that tend to remain in embedded in children's minds. Stories are one of the most effective mediums to reach out and understand emotion and theories.
